This assignment has been very informative about how clinical trials are conducted. I have been thinking about vaccine trials for COVID-19, as that has been on all of our minds for more than a year. I was interested to learn about how phase III trials are conducted on children as they are not in many cases old enough to fully understand the situation. I myself have a four year old but I don't think I would enroll him in any kind of drug/vaccine trial even though I want to be able to vaccinate him at some point against COVID. The CFR had a section on consent requirements for children in research studies which I found very interesting.
